ABOUT
HUNTSOUND = Nicholas Hunt;
Hey! My name is Nicholas. Audio engineer, sound designer, gamer and ponderer of the
vastness of space based in a little town called Whitby, Ontario. I have worked in audio and music production for over 10 years and started designing sound for video games and
film in 2016.
After years of playing in bands, recording and producing music, I discovered
the world of post-production and video game sound. After my first attempt at
replacing sound effects for a piece of footage, I was absolutely hooked. Since
then I have made sound design my focus and immersed myself in the indie
games and sound designer communities. This also sparked my eagerness to
study computer science and game development.
For video games, I am currently learning how to code and develop my
own games to gain a better understanding of the process of developing
games. Every aspect of the game informs each other so the more I learn,
the better I can do as a sound designer.
As for sound to picture, I was completely enthralled with the
level of detail put in to each and every frame. Practicing the craft
of linear sound design has drastically improved my ability to listen
critically, improve my attention to detail and hone my skills of balancing
the mix between SFX, dialogue, music and ambience to create an immersive
experience for the listener.
Each project is its own adventure and I always look forward to exploring new
concepts, navigating new challenges and creating amazing sound to complement the
visuals of a game or film.

SERVICES
Asset Creation
From foley recording to manipulating sound, this is where the sounds for your project come to life. The goal of this stage is to create unique and high quality SFX, ambience and BGM that makes your game or film stand out.
Audio Implementation
The implementation of sound is the key to a well optimized and great sounding game. I specialize in Wwise and Unity implementation and make sure all sound assets and audio systems are working properly.
Interactive Audio Design
For game audio, interactive audio design is about creating a dynamic soundscape that provides the proper aesthetic of the game while also reinforcing game mechanics that communicate with the player.
Mixing and Mastering
The final steps in the audio process. This is where it all comes together. Making sure all sounds, music and dialogue play together nicely in the audio spectrum and translate clearly to the listener.
Linear Sound Design
Sound is just as important as the visuals. After the creation of assets, it's time to apply those sounds to the narrative timeline. Dialogue, SFX, foley, ambience and music will bring your cinematic, trailer, advertisement or film to life.
Audio Repair
Whether you need to remove excess noise or clean up dialogue in your recordings, I have access to the latest tools to help fix up those audio issues holding back a finished project.
